Eric Schmidt of the famed search engine site Google claims that people today produce as much data in two days as humans did collectively from the creation of civilization until 2003. In 2012 alone, there were an estimated 1.8 zettabytes of business data in use. Pretty much everything we do digitally leaves a footprint which becomes a piece of data.
For businesses, however, that data all must be collected and managed, and as a result data management solutions exist.
